Yak-130 serial 15102 operated by the Bangladesh Air Force crashed in Lohagara, Chittagong, on July 11. Both pilots ejected safely before the trainer went down in a remote area.

• The US Marine Corps suffered the loss of KC-130T BuNo 165000 when the Hercules, which had been assigned to Marine Aerial Refueler Transport Squadron (VMGR) 452, crashed in LeFlore County, Mississippi, on July 10 killing 16 crew and passengers. The flight had originated from MCAS Cherry Point, North Carolina, and was en route to NAF El Centro, California, when it disappeared from air trafic control radar over Mississippi. Personnel aboard ‘Yankee 72’ included nine Marines from VMGR-452, six Marines and a US Navy corpsman from the Marine Corps Forces, Special Operations Command’s 2nd Raider Battalion based at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. The crash site was located in a soybean field in Itta Bena around 85 miles (135km) north of Jackson, Mississippi.

MiG-23UB serial MS3472 of the Indian Air Force crashed in Rajasthan state on July 6. Two pilots ejected safely before the fighter impacted the ground near Balesar in the Jodhpur district. The crash site was located around 23 miles (60km) from the Jodhpur Air Force Station.
