The FV4005 was undoubtedly the star of the show at Tankfest 2024, but one young fan’s brick recreation of the monstrous vehicle certainly impressed too. Craig Moore reports

Several companies make Lego-compatible World War Two tank kits and there are a lot of resellers.

I think it is good for the hobby and especially for children, as it may help spark an interest in military vehicle history that could last a lifetime. I have purchased two and enjoyed putting them together. Back in the early 1970s I was hooked on making Airfix models and would save up my pocket money to buy the next.

I was pleased to see many visitors at Tankfest 2024, young and old, walking away from the trade stands and the Tank Museum’s shops, with bags jammed full of model kits that will give them hours of pleasure after the event had finished. All these shoppers had smiling faces.
