Chasing Jeeps

Robert U’Ren discusses some of the treasures he’s uncovered and the special joy of the rare ‘barn find’ Jeep.

During my career of buying and selling Jeeps, I have been to some amazing places and met very interesting people – and come across some really special ‘barn find’ Jeeps.

These barn finds may have been standing idle and untouched for 20 to 35 years, but they will always stay in my mind. Some of these Jeeps have come from as far afield as Australia and the Philippines, and several from France, but most from the UK.

The reasons people decide to sell a Jeep are varied and can include family bereavement, inheritance, or poor health. Sometimes it is sold because the owner has lost their affection for it due to ongoing mechanical problems they have struggled to overcome, or sometimes the seller has owned and enjoyed the Jeep for a long time and just doesn’t get the same buzz from driving it or events as they used to.

I’ve also been contacted through my website by people who are thinking of selling and want an idea of what the Jeep is worth before they decide to let it go.
